Hi everyone,

Hopefully the information below doesn't arrive too late for those in and around London to attend this demonstration, which is tomorrow morning. It is the latest information I have and reflects a start location change to avoid conflicting with the Trooping of the Colour in the morning. This information comes from the MDC (UK) organisation.

We asked the MDC in Harare how UK-based Zimbabweans can best help our country. Their response was emphatic; lobby, lobby and lobby again for the outside world to send in more monitors. Without monitors, elections won't be free or fair -- and our country faces meltdown.

***** Vigil for Zimbabwe -- outside the Commonwealth Secretariat, Marlborough House, Pall Mall, London SW1, 9:00 am - 8:00 pm, 12 - 23 June. *****

Zimbabweans, their supporters and anyone who prizes democracy, justice and freedom are invited to take part in a daily vigil from 12 - 23 June between 9:00 am and 8:00 pm outside the Commonwealth HQ in London. Turn up when you want, stay as long as you can. MDC members will be there throughout -- raising awareness and lobbying members of the Commonwealth to wake up and take action. Please bring masks, posters, banners, candles, etc.

***** Rally for Zimbabwe -- outside Zimbabwe House, The Strand, London SW1,Saturday 17 June. *****

London's third Rally for Zimbabwe takes place on Saturday 17 June from 12:00 noon - 4:00pm. The venue is Zimbabwe House in The Strand. We will probably move on to the Commonwealth HQ at Pall Mall soon after 2:00 pm -- please listen for instructions. It's a high-visibility location, ideal for raising awareness among the UK public, foreign tourists -- and the people in power.

The reason for starting at Zimbabwe House instead of Commonwealth HQ is because of the Trooping of the Colour. The Metropolitan Police are still very kindly allowing us to continue with our rally in Pall Mall after 2:00 pm but we will start at Zim house at 12:00.

Bring masks, banners, posters, candles, drums, whistles, etc. Contact xhv05@dial.pipex.com for more details about MDC (UK) and its pre-election events programme. Or visit http://www.in2zw.com/mdc .

Wear masks to reveal the true face of ZANU-PF. There's a fear among UK-based Zimbabweans that demonstrating against ZANU-PF will endanger their families back home. So we're encouraging people to adopt the South American tradition of wearing masks during vigils and demonstrations. The Western media will love it as much as Bob will hate it. Like Pinochet, he craves international respect.
